AUL Extended Warranty!!!

Anyone heard of AUL extended warranty. I did a quick search on the forum and nothing came up. It looks like the “Optional Electrical Package” covers pretty much all the electronics as well. You can see more info from the links below:

https://www.aulcorp.com/de_contracts.asp

https://www.aulcorp.com/PDFFiles/AUL...ochure_522.pdf

I am looking at the “Reserved” plan. AUL Reserve includes Powertrain, Classic, Vintage, and Estate coverage, plus virtually all other manufacturer installed and approved components not stated in the short list of exclusions. The “Reserve” plan is an exclusionary plan. See the short List here, scroll down to Section 8.

Looking forward to hear your experience and feedback?

Thanks,

I would call and speak to an agent. I almost bought an extended warranty plan. Good thing I called. My vehicle has over 80k miles on it so the company will only pay a cap of $3000 total over the 3 years. Not really worth it when the plan is $1500.

Thank you for your reply. The statement below is from section 8, exclusion terms. It states the “Reserve” plan ceiling is the retail value of the car at the time of repair. However, as you mentioned the three lower plans have low ceilings of $3K to $5K.

Limit of Liability (Aggregate): The aggregate total of all repairs and benefits paid or payable while this Vehicle Service Contract is in force shall not exceed the lesser of the following aggregate amounts:
1) the Vehicle Purchase Price as shown on this Vehicle Service Contract; or
2) Powertrain: $3,000.00; Classic: $4,000.00; Vintage: $5,000.00; Estate, Wrap and Reserve: the NADA retail value of the COVERED VEHICLE at time of current repair.

IMO, do yourself a favor and put aside that $1500 a year instead of paying for that extended service plan - that you may never collect on and they may not accept your claim for multiple reasons.

Let's say you have a problem after two years. Fine you have $3K for repairs and you don't have to worry about your claim being accepted. If not, you STILL have $3K to do whatever YOU want with it - and it just keeps getting larger as time goes.

Your choice and good luck!

Well, I already spent about $3K on engine valve cover gaskets, alternator gasket, bunch of other engine seals, and valley pan about two months ago. I also spend about $1.2K on bushing and lower control arms. Had I known about this extended warranty, this $4.2K would have come out of this contract.

Now, the question is: is the X going to need more than $6K in repairs in the next five years????
