Squeaking all round - Need Help Diagnosing

hi guys i have a 2001 x5 thats got a annoying squeek all round.

if i place my foot on the break then very slowly creep forward theres squeeking comming from all 4 brakes anyone have any ideas what it might be.

i have checked the fluid level and that seems ok.

the noise seems to be comming from the 2 front discs and the 2 rear drum all round?

That noise is normal. It is the friction between the pad and the rotor. If it is a high shreak, check the thickness of your pads.

Otherwise it sounds normal. Once the pads and rotor come to temp, the noise should dissipate.

BTW Discs on all four corners, no rear drums. Except for the E-brake. It is a different component, not a part of the caliper system.

Yeah, thats from friction. 99% positive. Only happens when you are crawling correct? When going from any significant speed and you slow down, no noise right?

Its sounds fine. I cant see a video in the vid, but I am assuming you put it in drive and slowly let your foot off the brake but not completely, when you do that the sound comes out correct?

Are you running OE pads and rotors or something else? In any case, the sound is normal. Nothing to worry about.

Also sounds like you are running a 3.0d.

thats correct drive and slowly let your foot off the brake but not completely.

the video was took in dark mate as wanted to show you how it sounded.

as far as i know its useing standard oe pads.

just thought thats sound being loud as it it is it shouldent be making it.and should be quite not a huge creaking sound.

do you think maybe because the discs are dry.

its a 4.4i mate

Its a 4.4 and your motor sounds like that? There must be some distortion in the sound then or a truck going by. I heard a diesel in there somewhere.

Go figure.
