Tried this yesterday, did the trick ! Thanks much for the tip, Madams0325 !

Carrier replacement door open lock BS

The "3 plugs out" with the switch on fixed my issue after replacing the carrier. How did we ever work on car without the magical internet? Just made my day.

I replaced the door lock actuator which was faulty while doing the door handle carrier. Here's a vid of the carrier repair:

I also tried the solution he suggested and it didn't help at all. My problem is the keyless function of the driver side door is totally gone. I had to do it manually now. Also the pushpin won't go into locked position when the door is open(all other door's pushpin can go into locked position while those doors are open, and I remember the pushpin can go into locked before I fixed this handle carrier).
That's a safety feature for the driver side door only, so you can't lock the door with the key inside. You must use the key to lock the door or use the remote to lock the door. Most German cars are designed like that.

This worked for me. I was a bit discouraged after all the effort to replace the handle carrier and the windows regulator guide (mostly waiting for parts to arrive). Thanks to you all who discovered and confirmed the easy reset.

Thanks for this tip,it took 3 tries, but the first 2 times I had the door open, 3rd time I shut the door and it worked a treat.

Finally all my doors work and can be locked by the remote.

I'm having the same issue and uplugging the wires to the front driver window switch didn't sync the door. Is the GM3 the only other possibility?

I've tried:
*Replaced the door actuator (used), worked for a few days then stopped again
*Replaced the hazard/central lock switch, no change
*Checked central lock fuses, all fine
*Unplugged wires with key on, no change

Truman show….I just walked inside from replacing my left rear door handle and read this post. I had the same problem…after closing the door without the panel/card installed. I couldn’t open it as the inside handle was obviously off too. I tried pulling on the cable with a pliers to no avail, nor could I operate the lock plunger. I left the door card off because several plastic anchors that are glued to the door and hold the plastic push clips remained on the car door so i need to glue them back on to the panel.

I thought I was screwed with a closed door I couldn’t open but thankfully I started the car, cycled the central lock switch, all four worked, and then was able to open from the door in question from the outside. Oddly the central lock switch wasn’t working either before I started the car on aux power. Although perhaps it doesn’t in aux. I’ve never noticed.
