CCFL angel eye questions

I live in California and cant seem to find clip on CCFL angel eyes for my 2002 4.4l x5. I have come to this site that sell e39 5 series clip on angel eyes. So my question is would the E39 clip ons work for my x5? or would i have to find clip ons for e53? Thanks guys

Ok, so you have a 02 4.4. Please put your information in your sig, such as I have done.

As far as the AE's, you're going to have to do a search on the housing. Check the diameter of the rings and such.

Just trying to do this from my brain, I think the inside diameter of e39 housing and the e53 housing are way different. Th rings in the e39 are the same size on the high and low, while the E53 has 2 different sizes.

The E39 clips might be the wrong size if judging by the size of the lights.
Hot glue gun helps holding them in-place, or a tiny drop of super glue in the back to the glass baffles.

Corrected. E39 AE rings are too small for E53 headlights.

Why go with clip-ons? Wouldn't it be easier to mount non-clip AEs? I don't know. I'm just asking.

I believe he's still looking to buy a set of clip-on AE rings that will fit the pre-facelift HLs.

There I go assuming again!
