Switched Oxygen Sensors..

Hey Guys,

I am getting a switched oxygen sensors error on INPA. I am guessing the banks are messed up after my transmission work done.

Where are the pre-cat cables connected on the engine so that I can switch them? Or is there a way to switch the connections at the bottom where they are connected to cats?

Please help, its very annoying, car has rough idle constantly..

Thanks,

Ozzie..

Search here. They also have a fuse. Under the hood somewhere. Could be that. Someone just recently had this same issue. Check the wiring under the car too. Big chance someone nicked it during trans removal/instal.

Thanks SlickGT1,

Last time this happened. my mechanic told me they switched cables and it worked. So I know its an easy job, just do not know where the cables go inside the engine (I may try to trace them). I also did some reading and I know in different engines one bank (pre-cat) goes to back of the engine and one goes front, although not sure what happens in an e53..

Thanks again,

Ozzie..

No bank 1 means pass side. I'm pretty sure. Can't think if it pass or driver side. I'll check later.

Do you guys know where each of that connector wiring that the o2 sensor connects, goes inside the engine (via wiring harness)?

I would either have to find a way to switch the o2 sensor connectors from left to right (and otherwise) under the car or switch on the engine where the harness connects to..

Again, last time the same exact problem happened, my mechanic told me they switched connections, and I just do not want to go back there for such a simple task..

Thanks,

Ozzie..

Two different places, either There are two black plastic boxes or covers very close to the cats on both sides of the vehicle.
Here

or there is a connector very close to the sensor, either way it is under the x5. Just follow the wires
Or Here
