3.0d where does this pipe go

Hi all.

Just done aux belt tensioner and found this pipe off.
It was connected to something as i used it to hold the
alternator out of the way.
I have looked in every nook and cranny but cannot find
another pipe or connector for it to go into.

Thank you

Isn't that front diff breather pipe? So the top is not connected to anything.

Thanks for your reply.
I am sure it went some where as i used it to hold
the alternator out the way.
Will have to get under tomorrow to see if it goes to the
diff.

Thank again.

I think Clavurion has nailed it (as usual!) - diff breather hose.

On the LCI cars, the front diff breather hose pipe has a more pronounced turn at the end - like 180deg. and doesn't have the raised retention bumps on it - or the heat protection.

But on the pre-LCI, it seems it's a little different, and looks rather like this errant hose. According to RealOEM, it fits into a bracket (#5) somewhere (on the block?).
