OBDII P4055 ??

Hi all -

My 2002 3.0's "Service Engine Soon" light is on, and it's kicking out an OBDII code P4055 (large emissions leak). The car drives fine, but won't pass inspection. Anybody else dealt with this one?

Thanks in advance!!

John

What do you check when code p4055 comes up? 2002 VW Cabrio. (Fuel System Volkswagen Cabrio Engine Indicator Lights)

Did you happen to run the X without the gas cap?

If its something simple like that, have the fault cleared. Then you'll have to drive your vehicle for a while (maybe 50 miles) before they will pass you (even if no light shows). They can tell that the fault was cleared recently so that's why you have to drive for a while to prove that the light won't just come back on and that the repairs were successful.

Thanks!! I'm going to try that now. I think the inspection shop wrote the code down wrong. I think it was really P0455.

Hopefully its just a loose gas cap. Yes, you can search on P0455.

Had the code reset, and so far so good! Hopefully it was just a loose gas cap. Thanks for the help!!
