Carbon fiber products for the E53 world..

I am in the process of mocking up some carbon fiber hoods and such for the mk2 world (vw golf 85-92). One of my other cars is a swapped mk2. I am looking to get a feeler one if there are carbon fiber parts that you guys would like what would it be.

I definitely know that the product has to be A+ grade and I am not looking to put out work that is crap. So from a show of hands I am interested to see what everyone thinks about carbon fiber hoods and hatches, etc.. for the E53 world.

As an E53 enthusiast and always looking for something different I really dont see much of these products being put out for all of us so as a person that is in this type of scene and looking out for the people in this scene I am willing to get the ball rolling to get this product out there but just looking for interest with it.

so dont be shy and lets see whos interested.

Thanks!

That's interesting.
I am wondering what its price would be.

I think there would be a demand for a competitively priced interior trim kit in carbon fiber, as well as the other basics like shift knobs, e-brake handles, steering wheel trim, and smaller exterior pieces like mirrors, door handles, door slats, grilles, emblems. A cold air intake in CF would be awesome, or a rear diffuser, and of course a CF hood but that would be a gigantic piece. It's not going to be a huge market for you but if you are ok with producing in small batches then I think it would be a good fit.

Yes' trim. The wood falls apart on every dark BMW I've owned. Some nice carbon would be nice here.

Great list. I agree, especially with the interior trim.

Definitely would be interested in seeing some grill and upper hood inserts a bit more aggressive.....something like the vents off the vörsteiner M6 hood.

I would be interested in a carbon fiber hood like the Typhoon hood. Already purchased carbon fiber trim. Cost was $700 which included door trim door handle pulls, center console, rear cup holder trim and dash trim. I have seen ads on sets that were $2,000. Mine was from Ebay auction a few years ago.

I'd be interested too!

Love carbon fiber. I was going to experiment and lay some carbon fiber over existing interior parts and making some molds for some other stuff, but was putting it off till I had some time to devote to it.

The stuff online was way too much for my blood.

My aftermarket exhaust broke a mount and dropped, melting through the rear bumper. DOOOOUGHT! Sooo, I was going to pull it and lay carbon over the entire lower black unpainted part, effectively covering/filling the gap in the bumper. To tie it all in with a flat clear coat. Consequently I'd have to do the rest of the trim. May not be worth the time/money and effort compared to replaced with a used repainted unit. I guess its a matter of personal taste. I do know one thing. Keep it real. Not a fan of the fake carbon fiber.

Super interested to see where this goes. Keep us posted!

I love the real stuff. It really comes down to the fit and finish, and ofcoarse price.
