I had her since 06, with 23k , I have 140k now, I had the the timing guilds go,I didn,nt now until is was to late and the INDY in bedford started to rebuild the whole engine.
the guy was a jerk and I would not recommend him. I then did the suspension on her,front and back ,new OEM spings,new engine mounts. This year I had a INDY play around with the oil pan ,he ended up screwing that up, that then messed up the heads, had them rebuilt$7.5 k. Now she is running great the guys at motor works west did a great job, the engine is now 100%, no noise valves, runs great. I must admit I stuck it out with her, I hate having any one working on her. The only thing I like to do is water pump , and replace the wind sheild.................and maybe the aluminum running boards..............

Still on the original transmission then?
I fear the same failure that you had. Did you have trouble sourcing engine parts for the 4.6? What color interior? Any mods?

I had the trans rebuilt with 60k on her, the interior is black, funny thing, when I was having the engine rebuilt I one in cali with almost the same vin..............no other mods yet........................I learned alot from this web site, lie when my alarm was going off all the time on it,s own[it was the hood switch] save money there.....................

hi epdark , the parts where alittle time consuming to find,but BMW has most of the parts, I like this SAV because the newer ones are alot more complicated,these are pretty easy to work on if You can find a BMW specialist, the 4.8is are great SAV too,after 2005 I would,nt get involved......................
