Automatic headlamps were introduced Model Year 2002. An option code 0521 Rain sensor and auto headlight is added to the ZCS code. The SA-Bits is increased by 0000000000010000, and a new check sum is generated. Any model year 2002 and newer should already have the updated LCM3B software and hardware to enable automatic lamps.
If your vehicle already has option 0521 Rain Sensor, no additional LCM coding is necessary. A new light switch based on your VIN, windshield, and rain light sensor can be installed and coded. Additionally if your vehicle is not pre-wired for it, you may need to run 1 wire from the light switch to the lamp module for the additonal coded ground signal to activate. |
