Flooded x5 2,500 should i buy?

My friends 01 x5 4.4i got flooded with Sandy. My friend
Wants to sell it to me for 2500. It doesnt start. Should i buy
And if i do what might need replacing.

DO it! i would. Try to get it down to 1500 or 2000. You can get very close tot that on ebay just for the headlights

Im now on a lookout for a flooded supercar or something for real cheap. who knows it may start working eventually

Go to realoem.com and price every electronic module then add that total to the purchase price to get the start of an idea of how much it could cost you to get it running. Sure you could get lucky but the other alternative is a strong possibility.
I did not even get into bodywork, fixtures and mechanical parts that also may require replacement.

Flooded= no...flooded by sea water and assorted crap= hell, no.

As a part out project to unsuspecting buyers, only if you have room to part it out, and don't have much of a conscience, imo.
