We have this. We also found it while playing with the menu options. We thought to ourselves - "Oh cool! No more freezing cold mornings for us."

Not so. If you don't have the "Parked car heating system" which is operated from the remote control, all the "Auxiliary heating" does is blow COLD (and I mean freezing cold) air into the car for 30 mins before you get in.

So I wouldn't imagine it will hit your consumption too badly, considering it doesn't "heat" anything.

We thought it was a fault, so took it to our dealer. They didn't have a clue either, but eventually discovered that all it does is ventilate. It also has something to do with heating the fuel before it hits the engine, or something like that. It's the clicking sound you'll hear from under the passenger side of the car.

Thing is. You may still have a wee problem. If the noise is very noticeable, you should still speak to your dealer. We did and after moaning about it a couple of times they checked and there is a mod for this. It doesn't stop it, but it makes the clicking/clunking a lot less noticeable.

Seethis thread here.

well look on the bright side will cool the car down in the summer

I also noticed the aux heating but having read my manual first I knew the score. :p :p

Clicking what clicking. should I have clicking under the passenger seat hope not as I'm getting a couple of subs fitted under both front seats next week.

Huh! Dunedin got the manual out and they couldn't even figure it out.

You will only hear the clicking at temps below 7c. If it is warmer than 7c the aux heater doesn't kick in - so no clicking. If temp is below 7c, you will hear an annoying clicking from underneath the car near the passenger side.

You're right. That smilies web site is cool.
