RickM5X3 is on a distinguished road
4.8is still makes sense!

Just picked up a clean, well-maintained, one-owner 2005 Imola Red/Cream Beige 4.8is. 58k miles. After spending lots of miles in various E53 and E70 X5, I am fairly convinced that the 4.8is is the most driver oriented and engaging of them all. The new school E70 turbos are faster, but not nearly as visceral as the 4.8is. Our e70 is an abomination of technology and has higher handling capabilities for sure, but this one feels real and that matters! And the new ones can't beat the sound of this thing. Bought it cheap enough that the inevitable repairs will be something I can tolerate.
