rear defroster in-op??

hey gang! ive done an extensive search through the forum and can't really find my answer so now im asking! my rear defrost does not work. so in my search i saw that it seems that the heated mirrors work off of this as well? anyway, my mirrors work, the button comes on and times out and the fuses are all good. any one know what and where i should test now to see what the problem may be? does it need scanned? i diy everything i can on this, but diagnosing and elecs are not my specialty for sure! any help is much appreciated.

i see there is a relay? maybe thats another test i could do first?
