Quick climate control question!

So the X5 just had its climate control stop working. The fan doesn't respond when you increase the fan speed on the climate control display. The rear climate doesn't work either as the fans don't push air. This is coming from what my parents tell me - I have no firsthand experience with the actual diagnosis.

Is this a blower motor issue or a FSR issue?

I've fixed the FSR before by soldering the joints together so it would stop oscillating the fan speed, but this sounds like a different problem or that my fix has completely broke the FSR. I'll be home from Thanksgiving break and want to fix this issue quickly so my dad has heat in the X5.

Well, if you've messed around with soldering the FSR, it's on borrowed time +1. I'd start there. The FSR is a quirky device for sure and replacement will most likely solve your fan/blower problems.

Alright...went and bought one at the dealer. It was still $100 with a CCA discount! Oh well, I guess this X5's been lucky with only needing this FSR replacement in 10 years and no window regulators yet.
