any suggestions on roof rack painting

the first and final clown to detail my car got wax residue on my roof racks... and they look faded and white..

anyone ever tried painting them? not plasti dipping them but actual painting

i was wondering if i could get them powder coated but i honestly dont know what material they are

Easy...paint them Flat Black.....and back to normal.

before i plasti-dip my roof..i painted them due to using the the polisher with wax..so it got some white residue..then i dipped the roof i included them....

ohhh.. how did the paint hold up?

did you just use regular spray paint?
cause im gonna most likely do that... take them off and spray paint them matte black... along with all my new emblems (;

use Rust-oleum......prep it with Acetone first to get oil or any debris that cant make paint to bubble up..take your time painting it coat by coat..

That would definitely be the way to go.....Based on weight, when I ditched mine; Being that they're metal, I would put my money on some sort of aluminum. They're too light to be steel.

yea... its probably aluminum or something.. ill do some more research but for now, i think i might paint them... i just want something that will hold up and not start cracking in the long run.. even though she does sleep inside, when she is outside the florida heat is unforgiving
