2002 X5 low beam bulb!

I have a 02 x5 3.0 with xenon head lights the driver sides xenon burnt out, What is the parts number for the bulb that I need so I can order it, dealer wants $400

Osram D2S 4300K bulb replace both together and don't touch the bulb when installing. eBay has tons of them.

For future reference...you can always find the BMW part nbr for your car by going to this site (feel free to bookmark it or save it to your favs folder):

Just enter the last 7 digits of your VIN (or manually select the data) then click the BROWSE PARTS button and go to the "main group" and "sub group" to find the diagram & part nbrs you seek...in this case it would be LIGHTING & HEADLIGHTS. From there, you just scroll down the page and click on the diagram the fits what you're looking for and it will explode into a large diagram with the BMW part nbr index below it.

if you want to keep light output the max i'd go to is 5000k, but other people go 6000k for a touch more blue.

4300k is the most lumens (light output) on the road though.

Don't do Osram, do Phillips. In 03 BMW switched to Phillips, and there's a reason why. Phillips bulbs last longer and don't turn blue over time. Phillips part number is 85122 for a 4300k bulb.

The philips is of course the OEM, and of course, a solid bulb! But, If you want to one up the philips 85122 ----> Osram Xenarc 66240 svs. Its the brightest 35w in the 4300k range. They're a bit pricey, but worth the investment.

I was running the 5000k version of the 66240 svs (the CBI), with no complaints.

All bulbs will colorshift as they age, even the philips. That being said if you dont want to spend a ton of money, I can also vouch for the Morimoto bulbs Ricky Bobby mentioned. They're about half the cost of the philips from TRS and probably the closest in quality to an OEM bulb.

I would also advise against buying "Genuine philips" bulbs from ebay.....you would be
surprised how many are actually fakes.

x2 I watched that counterfeiting special on CNBC with Carl Quintanilla and I was amazed at all the fakes from overseas, even fake Apple STORES lol

Yup, the counterfeiters are getting quite clever. Many of the fakes will even have the correct labeling, lot numbers and model numbers....albeit all bogus of course.

I chuckle Everytime I see/hear people talking about $20 "genuine" Philips d2s bulbs from eBay. Common sense people, c'mon!!
