Long time ago, a light bulb burned on my E34... I went to wal-mart, got a bulb, replaced, all was good.. for 2 days.. replaced it with the second bulb from the package... burned same day... went to car store, got another pair... long story - short... after 3 packages, went to a dealer, bought Hungarian made bulb (for the life of me - they were identical!!!) 7 years later, sold the car with the same bulb...

Amen brother...gotcha

...just called my local BMW dealer...they couldn't even tell me if they had one / price. They said I have to give them a part number off the relay itself. Pretty ridiculous that they do not have exploded views on their computers to look at parts. I will have to purchase a good Service Manual - any suggestions?

...also just called NAPA...they have them but not in stock - special order from New Orleans. She said they don't stock them because they RARELY go bad / no demand for them.

There is no demand for them. I think you are being overly excited about changing it out.

"Overly excited" and "scared of getting stuck while out of town 200 miles from home" are 2 different things completely my friend I am just being cautious. It was pretty darn scary when she did not start yesterday - having surgery on Friday and I cannot get stuck.

You are all probably right and I have nothing to worry about. Your mouths to God's ears Thank you all for your time.

You won't get stuck. You know the trick to get going. I bet it was a one time fluke.

naaahhh.. 200 miles? it is not stuck, it is just an inconvenience... I got stuck (temporarily inconvenienced!!) about 4500 miles away from DC, in Panama, with blown rear tire and not even a gas station within 150 miles...

You will be ok...
