Upgrade to xenon. Problems with electrics

I hope this finds you well!

I was looking for some information or advice on upgrading my halogen bulbs to HID/xenon bulbs.

I have a 2006 e53 X5 which have the OEM Angel Eye headlights with projectors.

I appreciate that there are a lot of posts on this topic, however I wanted to ask if anyone had any problems after the installation of HID and Ballasts etc.
I have heard stories that they can melt the electrics board on the X5??

Has anyone heard of, or experienced this issue?
I'm not sure if, perhaps someone has just fitted the wrong kit?

If these bulbs can indeed be fitted to an e53, can anyone point me in the direction of where to find them. Maybe a kit that any of you had installed successfully?
