X5 rear wheel camber adjustment
Im new here. I need to adjust the rear wheel camber to neutral or close. My rear tires seem to wear too quickly on the inside corners. If anyone knows how to do it, please advise me on how to do it. I seen this kit on ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...234848476&rd=1 ), but I dont know if it will do the trick. I have an 06 4.4i....any help is greatly appreciated....Thank you, Rick P.S. I match tinted the front windows and Cleared out the lenses removing all traces of orange color. Love it....

The adjusters like that work. The VW guys use one like that. They work just OK. They typically squeak after a few thousand miles and wear quick. That the VW long term fix this was to make a new arm. I made a set for mine. Some welding and some stainless double adjusters.
Here is what I built. ![]() Looks Great! nice and clean.

I have a 2001 x5 3.0 with low profile 22" wheels that wear quickly on the inside edge of the rear wheels as well. tired of replacing tires. Does anyone know of a fix for this year x5?

I've also heard that worn subframe bushings could be the reason for tire wear. Does your X sit evenly or lopsided at all?

You need to loosen the two nuts connecting the rear lower arms. You can adjust these bolts and find a happy medium for the rear camber. No extra kits are needed..just a lift for the x and your good to go

You better take the car to a tire shop or service that has a 4 wheel alignment tools, they can then adjust all the wheel exactly as they should be.
But, cure for the tire wear, assuming the suspension is in good shape otherwise, tire pressure and the alignment. I had my wheels aligned so that they are at the center of the allowed values. that should do the work. |

I have adjusted out as much of the rear camber as the concentric adjustment will allow. But I have learned it is essential to keep the tires at the reccomended pressure (32 psi). My 19" sport tires were wearing much more quickly on the inner edges at even a few pounds over 32 psi. Now, I'm getting 25K miles with almost even wear.
