trunk

just curious if my dreaded battery dies and boot/trunk stays locked and i don't get a jumpstart to restore power, is there any trick to get the back open without power from the battery to operate the latch mechanism?

C'mon Omodos! This tip has been up here dozens of times...and easy search via the Online References Tab at top of any page, which gives this:
Index of /pdf/e53

Dunno what year you have, but our '01 is done this way, via the manual. This step assumes one can get into the car via a door.
