rear tail lights

Hey all,
Random question. Would the e70 tail lights fit my 2006 e53? Looking to replace and wanted a move updated feel. I didn't see anything inthe tips and tricks area.
Thanks for the help.
Billy

Here is E70:

This is E53:

But if you want some E&0 flavour on the E53, in my opinion it looks awful here you go:?

And this is what i have, however the non LED version:

Obviously ,its not plug and play ,but the inner tail light ,should fit!The outer, you will need to cut away at the wheelarch, but not impossible and feasible..Good idea ,actually, you are the first person who ever mentioned it!Well done

With a lot of modifications, I guess you can mount them. But it still won't look right. If you look at the picture of the E70, the line under the top rear hatch continues with a bump in the taillight and goes on as a "bump" in the body, past the door handles etc.

Recreating that line in the bodywork of the E53 will take a lot of time and money, and still wouldn't look right. If you want the E70 taillights, it would be cheaper and better to sell your E53 and go buy a E70...

haha thanks for the responses. I didn't think it would but before I went updating though I might give it a try. Rolfi, your right about the design lines. The F15 rears I like the led "bar" look. It is more modern. Anyone recommend a good source for the led tails?

I like the led bars too. I feel the thick bars would look too modern for the E53, but the E83 X3 facelift has thinner bars.
I have been wondering if I could hack up a pair of E83 taillights, take the light bars and fit them in to a pair of E53 tail lights.

If done right, I think it would look awesome.

I was kind of wondering about those newer style tail light led bars as well. Paging our resident modders!
