Question Heater hose impossible to get at

I've got some new heater hoses for my E53 4.4i. One of the hoses terminates directly behind the engine. How the heck do you get at this hose? Is there some special access panel or are you expected to have snake arms or remove the intake manifold to get at it.

Any experience with this

Not an easy job but taking off the upper plastic cover makes it doable. Check out page 13-15 in the link below for removing the cover...should take you about 5 to 10 minutes.

Thanks. I wondered if that cover came off. I'm replacing my valve cover gaskets so I thought I might as well replace the hoses that I've had sitting in the garage for a year while I'm in there. Seems like I just keep taking things off! I'll be glad when it's all back together.

Change your oil after you replace the valve cover gasket. Just in case you spill some coolant when removing the heater hoses if it done with the valve cover off.

If you're replacing the gaskets, do what I did and pull the hoses off from the watervalve back - it makes putting the cover on the drivers side much easier. After you have the cover on then put the new hoses on.
