Replaced Bulbs, Ballast, still flickering

What's next? ignitor?

Flickering is not constant, typically only when the road is rough or the wheel is cranked more to the side.

Still driver side only.

Frustrating as @#$@$!!!!!!!!!

Maybe swap igniters side to side?

Also, check the wiring inside the headlight housing. A lot of E53's have harnesses with crumbling insulation.

This... the wires insulation literally disintegrates causing shorts... had that happen on my last X.

Added observation.

I could almost trigger the flickering by turning the steering wheel 20 degrees to the right. Snap the wheel back to center light back on. 20 MPH and turn wheel sharp 20 degrees to the right and light off. Back to center back on. Did not happen when turning left.

I'd pop the cover off and look at your wiring. If you have adaptive headlights (the ones that move with steering angle) then the wiring could be getting pulled and causing a short or disconnect. That would make sense with what you are describing.

Well, looks like worn wiring was the issue. $3 in electrical tape solved it. Yellow wire running from bulkhead connector to headlight motor was shorting to ignitor housing.

Good deal. Always nice when it turns out to be something simple.

Angry

Yeah, glad to have it fixed. Just wish I had found that before replacing bulbs $114, and ballast $130.

Good to see the problem solved!

It's ok, at least you wont have to worry about those for a while, and I'm sure your lights are brighter if the bulbs you replaced were a few years old.
