Windshield washer pump

I have searched this subject extensively before I made this post.

It's an 2002 X5 4.4i that I am selling after all these great years. Have a new E70 and a E53 for long distance driving was great but now I don't travel as much. E53 is going to another home. I just don't want to sell it knowing it has issues right now. That would be unfair to the next buyer.

So anyways. I bought a new pump and verified its working in another E53 as well after I tried it on mine and it would not turn on. No noise from the pump. I can't find my voltmeter so I am picking one up now. In the meantime I am trying to figure out if there is a relay to the pump wires? Fuse 27 is the washer system fuse and it's good.

The rear wiper and fluid pump works fine.

Some have mention stalk problems but how do you test for that without disassembly and or is there a fuse for that as well?

Ground issue? Any suggestions as to where else I should check with the volt meter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to get this resolved so I can put it for sale with a good conscience.

Thank you in advance.
