Rein CV boots....anyone else have troubles with them?

So we put the X up the other night to replace the driveshaft and some other stuff... and what do I see? The outer CV boot we did about a month ago, split open again and spit out its grease. Now normally I would have opted for the Genuine BMW kit, but needed a replacement pronto and it was the only kit ECS had in stock, ready to ship with the rest of my stuff. I ordered 2 kits, so I do have another one sitting here but if anyone else has had problems with them failing prematurely, I'm just going to chuck it and order the OE kit.

Now I should say that its been brutally cold here since we put that boot in, and maybe I lucked out and managed to get a lemon.....either way I'd appreciate any input anyone has!
