Stuttering at part throttle 2006 4.4

I have searched this issue and seen that it is usually caused by a torque converter problem. As stated this is an 06 4.4 with 65k miles I purchased it at 58k and changed the transmission fluid and filter with OEM filter and fluid as well as the transfer case fluid and both differentials just after purchase.

Mine is a little more specific in that it only does it in 5th gear. The stuttering is constant and every 2 or 3 seconds and it does it when in drive, sport or manual shift positions. It feels as if the car is decelerating for split second and then back to normal for 2-3 seconds.

I tow a 3000 lb trailer couple of times a month and it seems to tow just fine. I am not positive but I seem to remember feeling it while towing also.

Is this the torque convertor failing? or a control issue with the solenoids and valve body?

Transmission shifts great except the delay when going to reverse with no other
symptoms to mention.

Any input is appreciated

Eric
