My '02 E53 was built with mechanical, cloth seats. I bought a complete leather interior with door cards for very reasonable money near my home. In the process, the front seats of the set were sport, power & heated. Rather easy retrofit.

It's all bolt and plug & play. The under front seat connector is identical for any seat version. You will need (naturally) a different control button unit (where your PDC & rear hatch open button is located) with the heated switch buttons (I have a good, used spare if you need one). The passenger seat will work right away. The driver's seat will not receive power (by design) unless you add a specific cut-off relay (I can give you the part numbers) in the fuse box (glove box, not the rear fuse box).

Pay attention to the year of the donor car (if you take the rear seat) as there are two different designs (depth) of the seat back catch. Take these (black wired on a fixture) from the donor car.

Check my posts (1-2 years ago) on the conversion. All in all, a few hours of work. Nothing difficult at all. PM if you have other questions.
