A while back I read a thread where someone installed the OEM PDC into the X5 Into the bumpers etc. I need the kit maybe the DIY thread. I can't find it anymore.

Any help?

first, check to see if you are prewired for the PDC... do you have xenon lights? what year is your car?

you have a facelift e53, so i am not sure if you have PDC prewired... if you care to check, would you get into your battery compartment, pull the L-shaped module holder and take a look at the plugs that might be lurking down there?

do you know how to get there?

process is same as for battery change - just don't pull the battery...

remove the spare tire...

if you have the airpump (dome looking thingie under spare tire), remove it - there are two bolts and two nuts... You do not REMOVE it per se - just TILT it out of way...

it will expose the battery compartment

as you look at the battery, you will see that there is a plastic cover with BMW written on it, remove that cover - three screws, pull the plastic vertically up

that will expose L-shaped module holding bracket

the bracket may contain radio module (if yours is in trunk)
the PDC module (you don't have it), it would be next to the radio module, you may have three plugs there, white, black and i think, blue

trailer module or the connector with 15 fat, round pins

TV module, if so equipped OR satellite module, if so equipped

So, you are looking for the three plugs, bundeled together...

can you do it off these instructions?
