vin coding

Hi,

I am looking to buy a digital hybrid tuner for my 2004 4.4l E53. Will I need to code the vin or is this plug and play? Talking about an oem hybrid tuner. I do know I wont need to register the battery for this car. Came from having a E65 which everything needed to be coded.

Thanks

no need to code - when the TV tuner connected to the system, the word TELEVISION appears in the main menu screen. then you can select it and enjoy the TV programming... the picture will cut off once you start driving - to allow the picture in motion (bad idea for a driver!!!) you need to get a special module, sold by a number of german sellers on ebay... also, you can easily retrofit a reverse camera and also have an A/V input and output along with TV Search button for rear passengers (if you have the rear monitors in the headrests)... please bear in mind that the TV tuner's audio is piped in MONO, not STEREO format...

welcome to the forum!!! you will find a lot of useful info here...also... where are the pics of your ride??? c'mon, show it off!!!

bear in mind that the X5 batteries do not like to be used while the engine is off - they drain way too fast, and once drained, they don't hold up to the task even after being recharged...

thanks for that. I live in Australia and I think the battery is on its way out as when the car cranks it turns over a few times occasionally. Could be the spark plugs. Will check it out this weekend.
