I have a production spread sheet that shows month-by-moth production breakdown of all BMW models - it suggests that there were 270,268 E53 models produced in total (from October 1998 until September 2006). No indication on transmission sorry.

*edit* correction - these numbers are US market only (not ROTW) and they DO include the manual transmissions - of which there was 4,356 produced.

so is that manuals for US market only or for worldwide? thing i am trying to figure out how many of manual X5s are left...on xoutpost i have seen 100-ish members registered with manual (including myself) and i think i have seen somewhere 300 of them are left?

edit: 83 of manuals are here

Pretty sure it's US-market manuals only. I got the info. from this spread sheet...

http://www.bimmerfest.com/bmw-conten...-by-month.xlsx

*edit* one clue that this data is US-market only is a total lack of diesel models mentioned!

hmm if this is 2% of X5 production, and 3% is in europe....numbers should not exceed over 10 000 vehicles, which is still pretty low...considering the years and other conditions, not very much of the manual X5s are left....which equals that their price on the market will grow every year

I doubt it'll grow. It is probably pretty close to the bottom. The E53 isn't exactly all that desirable. If something like the 4.6 or 4.8is were available in a stick they might hold their value, but I'd be very surprised if the 3.0i value appreciated ever due to it's transmission.

Still - thats interesting that technically we are 1 of 4500ish total produced - little more than the 4.6iS which is probably the rarest produced (around 2700 examples of 4.6iS i believe)

The 3 pedal X5's will only appreciate for enthusiasts and on well cared for examples who want the reliability and easier maintenance of the I6 mated to it - I don't think it will be an E30 M3 or E39 M5, but I think well cared for, tastefully modded OEM+ examples can fetch a good price

Not selling mine for quite some time however nor do I ever think I'll get what I put into it back
