Red face Introducing my X

Hi Guys!

After spending so much time reading on this forum, I thought it's time to say Hi officially and share some pics of my X. (was waiting for a nice day to take some shots).

First, I'd like to THANK YOU guys for sharing SO much information on this forum. Reading here has inspired me as well as saved me a lot of time and money! This community rocks!

My car is an 04' with 31K miles on it. Car came with OEM Hitch and HID low beams.

I already got around to do the following upgrades:

Added a CD Changer.

BSW Stage 1 got installed yesterday. I added the Sound Ordnance B8-PT self-powered subwoofer. The sub setup was just under $200. It's not a mega-sub by any means, but totally takes care of the lack of bass and gives an overall balanced and crisp sound.

I also scored 20" wheels this week off CL. II Crave #14 rims with brand new Michelin Latitude tires. While it is not a staggered set (which I initially was going for), the 1K price tag for the set sealed the deal for me.

**Now need spacers but not sure what size to go for... (?) The rims are 20"x10" and the tires are 275/40/R20 all around. Check out the pics below.

Home-smoked the rear tail lights this morning (the inner pieces only for now as they were faded from the sun) +ran out of tint film

LED bulbs for the tail lights - did not add the capacitor they came with after reading about the resistors on one of the threads. I am worried about the heat the capacitors omit so close to the sound components.

Ordered a NAV screen replacement from China. (someone thought it was a touch screen and left 2 large circles of dead pixels on it).

Also got the AUX cable. (waiting for the screen to show up to add in one go).

Future Upgrades:

Coding - need done ASAP! Gathered a list off the different threads here. Tried to find someone here in Colorado to do it with. Still looking. Might go for remote if I can't find anyone.

Add Resistors to flickering LEDs, add reverse light LED bulbs.

HID fogs to match the HID low beams.

"Maybe" list: Running Boards, Front Skid plate, Rear (only) 4.8is spoiler, 4.6 exhaust tips. Dice Media Bridge. Maybe

That's all for now!

Would love some advice about the size for the wheel spacers!

Again, many thanks to all of you!

wheels are not my style but still a very nice X5 with very very low mileage.

It's hard to recommend a spacer size without knowing the offset of your wheels. Judging by the look, I would go with 20mm. Get the bolt-on spacers style.

I found mine on eBay. It's work. You must wait for them; I sat on it for 2 weeks before this one came along. You sort out the results by milage weed out the newer models then check it twice a day until one shows up. Also, you must be willing to travel in order to get it or ship it. Mine had 28K when I got it back in September. Still under (extended) warranty.

Hey TMV,
Thx for the welcome. It's good to be here.

It's funny how these things go... The wheels are not what I thought I'd go for either. I was thinking more in the lines of style 336. I knew I wanted Machined face black, to get the darker theme going.
When I saw the wheels on the car tho, it was suddenly a different story. They look sharp. They are very similar to the Konig Airstrike, if you are familiar, which was always a personal favorite. They add the black while keeping the integrity of the silver of the car. They are also pretty minimal which adds the calipers (needs painting) and discs into view. The look grows on you, I tell ya.

In the end, I must admit, it was a financial decision. I did the math and figured a set of Replicas with just okay tires would have set me back just under 2K, which I was reluctant to spend at this time.
The cheapest I could price the set I got for 1K is ~$2300. The Michelin Diamaris tires are practically new. The 2 Crave wheels are not bad either, certainly beating the Replicas in quality and weight. It was too good of a deal to pass.

On the spacers - could you please turn me in the right direction? I was going to get the ECS tuning set, but they are not bolt-ons (if I understand you correctly). Is there a specific brand preferred by folks on this forum? (A link would be most helpful). Thanks!

H&R spacers. IIRC, it's DRA spacers.
Regarding the wheels: as long as YOU like it.

Great mileage. Seems like a great pick up. I will be honest, hate the wheels. They just look really out of place on the truck. The fronts look like they need 20mm and the rears look really sunken in, may need even 30mm. I would suggest buy one pair of 20mm and try them on first. Once you can see what they look like in the front and back then buy your next set accordingly.
