changing spark plugs (2001 V8 model)

any tips on this can be easily done? (link or steps with pics?) I've found a youtube guide but it's not very clear. The poster skipped a lot of stuff and wasn't really clear on some of the instructions. There is a longer and clearer video but it's for a later model.

There is a article here on xoutpost (http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...-e53-4-4i.html) but without any pictures, it's hard to follow. and some of the steps aren't very clear. sample (You will need to remove the connector on each head by unlocking the silver clip. To do so, you will need to hold on both sides of the clip and pull it out towards the directions of the arrow below.) Arrow indicates a picture was meant to accompany the guide but no pictures where provided.

thanks

It may seem trivial, but re-read the guide while in front of the engine....identifying parts as you go along. Although pictures surely help, they aren't the be all, end all for something like this.

That will make sense once you actually take the Engine Covers off. Its an extremely easy. I would give it a 2, 1 easiest 10 hardest.

The back two plugs on the drivers side are a little difficult to get to but it still can be done with ease.

BavariaTexan raised a point I was going to mention. Your 01 V8 would be the M62TU engine. That same engine is in the 1999-up e39 540i/iT & e38 740i/iL...so if information on the e53 forum doesn't provide enough details...you may find more extensive DIYs on the e38 & e39 forums (as well as YouTube) since they have the same engine, and owners asking the same questions, and being confused by the same things.
