IMO.... the newer X5's just don't have the appeal as our E53's, especially the 48is.

Do you really need the 3rd row of "seating for children only" ?

I am also in the same boat. I have an 05 X5 4.4i fully loaded as well alpine white with all black interior. I have done some tasteful upgrades for instance magnaflow x pipe, aux cable, painted my style 132 wheels black, deleted roof rack, black and white emblems throughout, black wide kidney grill. I am now catching myself looking at the 7 series much more now. My X has 85k miles and I am thinking its time to sell. Whats a reasonable asking price?

sorry didnt mean to hijack your thread

+1. The newer X's (XM's as well) look good, but IMO just look too cold and calculated. I'd actually extend that to most of bmw's new models.

Thanks for the input guys currently has 83k no accidents second owner for four years and may still keep it. Just looking at retiring from the army in three years and did not want a car that may start having issues. So far only did basic upkeep and new battery alternator. Stealth box pushed by a jl 3/100. No issues from the beast but looking further ahead. Will post pictures later once I get home. Just looking at other options love the truck and really only drive it for long trips because its so comfortable. But I think it's time for something newer.

/x5snd. You are correct and that's why it is such a tough decision. I am stationed at Fort Riley Kansas and I really like taking it out on the weekends. It looks like a beast around the newer Xs

No issues just looking to the future and not sure of what may pay ahead. I have been looking at X5Ms and 7s as well as the S550 I already have a E350 and don't think I can leave the BMW so definitely trying to stay in the arena. Pros and cons with the 7 not sure, last one I had was a 93 740il. I have driven the newer ones in a while. The S550 would not have the push like the x IMO . So that's why I am asking opinions because all these deployments don't allow me to be in cars like I used to. Again thanks for the wealth of knowledge and advice over the years. This feels like a very hard decision because it is so nice. Only driven two weeks this year for service and after because the weather was nice.
