SO - I jumped the car to get it running again - it started up fine. While it was idling I noticed that suddenly I have the (4x4) warning light was lit on my dash! I have no idea why this would have happened... but there it is. I tried shutting of the car... and then restarting once I figured I had a good charge. Didn't make a difference. I haven't done much more since then - I haven't even driven it yet (will do this evening). In the meantime my friend came over with his OBD-II scanner, just to see if it was throwing an error code. Sure enough there is one... P111F (which might be P1111 truncated). But, from what I've read online, it seems to be related to Air/Fuel or mass air sensors. I didn't reset it, but left it alone. Only had the car for 2 weeks, having just picked it up CPO from a BMW dealership out of state. They did a pretty thorough reconditioning, so I'm surprised there are issues all the sudden. Any connection to the DICE install? Did I trip up the computer? Thanks... |

Killcrap,
Got one for ya. 01-X5-3.0,121,Kmiles. 6 month old BMW battery with 12.volt charge at terminals and green light. In engine bay at jump site with car running 14.1 volts. However, the beast won't start, gets a jump and starts right up. Fine the next day, short trip, no start. Let rest , starts right up. Drive again, long trip, let sit 10 minutes, won't start, 12 volts at jump site and battery still green light. Then, try again, starts up. What can do ?? Thanks.. |

Happened to me, too. I just drove a while and the light went off. I presume that means all is well now.

Killcrap solution didn't work for me. I had replaced the regulator of the passenger power window and while the car still in place at the dealer shop, the 4x4 light comes up. He told me it will light off alone when you just arrive home then restart your engine. Noting that after trying killcrap solution, I didn't move the car. do I have to drive the car after

Did you do any other work other than that? Like work on the suspension? Did you disconnect the battery when working on the window regulator? If so, then it should be as killcrap said. Turn the ignition to pos1 or 2 (engine can be on or not). Then turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock. When returning it to center the light should go off. |
