extrememly loud static/popping from very front speakers

I have a 2005 X5 4.4i and I'm having issues with the front speakers.

These are the very front speakers right below the windshield (are these the speakers for bluetooth phone? music doesn't come from these i don't think).

I am getting really loud static and popping from both the driver and passanger side. I turn the radio off and still the same sound - volume doesn't seem to matter either. I think water came in through the windshield as I noticed the seal is cracked.

Is there a way to disconnect these front speakers? I am guessing that these don't connect to the radio since volume doesn't seem to matter?

It means one of the wires on your speakers has frayed or may be popped and making false contact. As Mrbmwx5 suggested, remove door panels and check the wires connecting the speakers to the pods connector, not the wire harness.

I did find water in the trunk. It was on the bottom of the back left compartment (if standing at the back). Where is the drain you were taking about?

water in the trunk - bad... i was going to mention the bluetooth connection (it makes those popping sounds sometimes) but water in the trunk overrides everything...
