Aerial amplifier (What uses it?)
I am referring to BMW part number 84.10 6 945 425-02 I am about to fit an ANDRIVE headunit into my car and am wondering if I can make use of this aerial amplifier for the TV reception. My car already has DVB TV but does it use this aerial amplifier, and can I run a lead from the new head unit into the input of this amp? Or does the radio module use this amp? I have searched the internet for some info on the way it's all set up but cannot figure anything out. I would also like to run a wire to tap into the current GPS aerial. Any thoughts on that idea?? (Rather than have another GPS receiver sat on the dash). Any help appreciated. |

I believe the amp you are talking about is for the AM/FM radio correct? It will need to be powered up to receive those signals. As far as tapping into the GPS signal, I assume your talking about your OEM nav antenna correct? You cannot splice into a Nav Eye cable, so your going to have to either disconnect and use the factory one, if it has the same end, or run a second one.
