Angel eyes kit turn off the DRL?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. I own a 2000 X5 e53 4.4i - Just ordered a LED angel eyes kits.

Question: If I hook my angel eyes on the DRL wire, will the Daily Running lights off automatically

I did the same to my E46 M3, the angel eyes kit turned off the DRL automatically, I'm not sure about the X5, any clue guys?

Thanks in advance.

not sure what kit you have ordered and what it does, but the DRL are a function of the high beams, when the high beams are "pulsating" to create a less then full beam, usually at 50% from the factory, but can be programmed to be from 0% to 100%.

not sure how an electrical wiring can "re-program" something like that... did you lose the high beam function in the E46? did the E46 have the operational high beams and the DRL were turned off? did the E46 have a dedicated light bulb for the DRL? some E34 had a dedicated bulb a la smiley face inside the headlight assembly...

Ya for e46 M3.. You hook on the angel eyes wire to DRL wire, the high beam still work, it cut out your daily runnin light automatically and leave you only the angel eyes. It's a cool kit I got. No reprogram, just simply hook on the angel eyes kit to the DRL wire, that's it

High beam works , high beam on, angel eyes also on, the angel eyes never goes away. When I remote turn on/off my car door, angel eyes on. Ignition off, lock doors, walk away, it's gone after 20secs, pretty cool

I'm not sure the X functioning the same
