I just got my X back on Saturday after replacing the whole cooling system, belts, pulleys, tensioner, water pump, battery, door carrier and door handle. Now my car is running like a champ again!!

The issue I am having now is that I took a couple of phone calls using my systems bluetooth and it is now stuck in a phone call. The green light is on the top right hand corner as if I am still on a call.

I have tried turning the car off and trying to connect my bluetooth again to make another call and I am not able to do anything but use the navigation. The mode button or am/fm is not working either since the car thinks I am on a phone call.

Is there a way to reset the whole system?

I have tried pulling out the FUSE from the glove box and the problem still exists.

i wonder, if pullilng the actual BT unit from the car and grounding all 54 pins would help or not... if should not hurt, as the unit will be out of the car, with no power... the unit normally will retain the paired phone information, even when it is not connected to a power source... if the grounding does not help, i wonder if the INPA/DIS will be able to reset it...

what resources do you have? INPA? GT1?

I don't have any type of resource like the INPA or GT1. I actually dont even know what that is.

I will ask the guy who worked on my car to help me out this afternoon. He is a tech for BMW and works side jobs from home after work. I didnt want to bother him after he just worked on the car.

I had the same problem the other day and I pulled the fuses one by one in the boot on the right and it reset itself. I can't remember which one, but it will work.

Did you guys have the car on while you started pulling the fuses?

If I start pulling them out while the car is on can I possibly damage something?

No, turn it off. Look in the handbook and see which ones relate to the phone (71,72 ish from memory) and pull them and then put them back in and turn the car back on. It should reset the system - well it did for me.

BTW, you could really help us help you better by creating a permanent signature that includes your model/model year/build date...there are lots of changes and difference during the production run from 1999-2006...and it helps us tailor our responses/suggestions/answers based on where your X falls in production...as well as what engine, tranny, or other changes/differences may apply to your specific circumstances)

I would try pulling the fuse to the telephone (#F74) that's located in the rear fuse box behind the right pull down cargo panel (and behind the subwoofer if your X has one).

If that doesn't work, try pulling #F72 & #F75, too:

Thanks everyone for your help. I am happy to say that the Bluetooth is now working again. I went ahead and removed the three fuses Qsilver7 mentioned and voila the Bluetooth is now working again.

I will begin working on my signature picture and updating the specs of my X for future reference. Thanks again!
