Headlamp Warning Light on but Lights are fine - RESOLVED
As indicated in the title, both front light warning lights came on at the same time but Zenon, day running, fog and signal lights all work fine? Anyone else experience this and if so whats the resolution? Thanks in advance Last edited by love2speed; 07-08-2013 at 09:45 AM. |

it would help if you post the exact verbiage of the warning, and the month/year/model of your ride - the headlights were redesigned throughout the years a few times...

It's the liquid helium super conductors!
Do your angel eyes work? (If applicable)

Sorry guy's its a 2005 3.0, the warning lights are 2 red headlights on the car image on the dash.
I hope this helps. No sorry X5SND I already checked liquid helium super conductors and they are just fine. No angel eyes on my truck |

Unless you no longer have the factory headlamp housings, you will have angel eyes.

Toss up a pic of your headlamps
Angel eyes are standard on 04 and newer models. My guess is that they are there, but burnt out---hence the error. And if you have the low cluster, it's just looks like a low beam error.

And since a warning for BOTH left/right headlights have come on, and you don't think you have AEs, then more than likely both bulbs that illuminate the AEs has burnt out. You must post pics to refute this...because I don't think anyone on this forum can phathom you NOT having AEs. ![]() Is this what the front of your X5 looks like (below)? It is what you should see when you turn the headlight switch to the firs position (park lights). If yes, you have Angel Eyes...note the circular ring of lights around what is the projection lamps (headlights) for the high & low beam: (also note that one of the AEs is not illuminated on the passenger side in the pic below)

RESOLVED
Hey Guy's thanks for all the info, I investigated last night and my AE's were out which is why I didn't think I had them. However, not because of bad bulbs but because of a bad convention. I pulled the plugs cleaned them up and sure enough problem solved.
Cheers Marc Last edited by love2speed; 07-08-2013 at 09:38 AM. |
