Help! Another dead battery question

We went on vacation for about 9 days. When we came back, my wife's 2006 X5 3.5, which was in the garage in Phoenix at 112 degrees give or take, was dead. I jumped the X5 and got it started and drove it for about an hour. I pulled into the driveway and turned it off and then restarted it with no problem.

Should I look at getting the battery replaced or should the "recharge" work if it starts again in the morning?

Looking for some insight for a mechanical neophyte.

Thanks!

Edit: Forgot to include the fact that the battery is on a year old. I know we go through a lot of batteries in the desert, but one year is a bit too short....

I tend to agree that a year old batt, even in PHX summer temps, should not be toast...but, maybe the drive cycles your car receives aren't sufficient to keep it charged. That is difficult to 'know' by us.

If it starts fine tomorrow, I would say it 'recovered' well, but you may need to think about the drive distance/cycles the car gets and consider getting a Battery Tender or C Tek charger, and plug it in once a week or so.

All the above assumes there is no parasitic draw, the alt is working, et al.

Thanks for the reply!

My wife drives it to work M-TH all year (absent occasional vacations) about 40 miles a day. It did start up fine about an hour ago. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
