Oil Seep....
Is replacing the Flange Gaskets a DIY? They both look very accessible

I don't know about that gasket. However, what oil grade are you running in there now?
I have a drop or two when switching to Mobil1 0W-40. Previous 5W-30 leaks nothing. So the thinner oil might seep pass those aging gasket. I would try thicker oil and see.

Here are the gaskets that go around the VANOS Solenoids. More like hockey pucks, they are plastic & thick #9 on the parts scan...
