Rear view puddle light LED bulb oddness

I installed LEDs and had a few left so did the puddles. I started on the passenger side and all was well. Then I did the driver and it only lit dimly & the previously working pass no longer did. Returning the original bulb to teh driver side restored function of both.

What am I missing?

check the values of the LEDs to see if they are matching to each other, use multimeter with diode function. if values are different, the LCM might be confused.

They are "identical" LEDs and the pass side is working with the oem. I really am not in a hurry to open the pass side again, that is a pita.

I tried three bulbs from the same lot in the driver side. They all lit dimly while the pass no longer did. I'll live with it if I have to.

Thanks

i have no access to WDS at work, but i am sure the answer might be laying there... if i remember over the weekend to pull the WDS at home, i will try to look it up, to see how the wiring and the signalling go on the blueprints...

You need to install a resistor in one of the mirrors, I had the same problem with mine, found the info in a thread here on the site. The LED bulbs don't pull enough current, just splice in a resistor in either mirror.

I searched before I posted, found a thread from 2006 about glue on under runningboard puddle lights :P

Any idea what value resistor or what search parameter will find that thread?

Thanks!
