4.8is front steering/suspension issue: "clunk" and steering is now off
Starting over the July 4th weekend, I came out of a steep driveway with my steering wheel turned a full turn or so to hear a "clunk" where something shifted in the front suspension and stayed: my steering wheel is now 10 degrees off.
I had the car inspected by the last indy who did my alignment and I got the car back with the steering wheel even again...but a few weeks later it did it again & now it does it continuously leaving my driveway, where my steering wheel is stuck about 10-15d off and I have slop in my steering wheel play when turning one direction. Back in November of last year, I had both lower front control arms replaced and the vehicle aligned. Indy now states that all four front control arms have splits in the bushings: the two new lowers and the two original banana arms. Still, "splits" don't necessarily mean that's my problem. Anyone else have experience with this? :/ OH, an just recently under medium to hard braking, I get a shake in the steering wheel even though the rotors and pads are new (did it both before and after my brake job...could this be the same bushing/failure?
