High pitched whining noise transmission or steering?
It sounded like when the PS fluid is low and the wheel is turned on an old car. I rolled down the windows and listened for it, it did not happen again. I swapped the PS fluid with Redline when I got the truck. Any input is appreciated.

When does it happen? RPM, throttle position? When you turn the wheel or all the time?

It has not happened when I am driving. It was coming down a corkscrew type driveway from an indoors parking structure in the US Grant downtown San Diego hotel. It was going 5 or so MPH and turning hard left. I listened for the sound when we drove out and nothing and again after it had sat for several hours when we left where we went.
Thanks

The answer is neither. It was the fan shroud attached to the fan and eaten by it.
New shroud ordered.
