Oil Change
Could not find it in search. How much oil do I need to buy? Is there a guide on how to do this somewhere? (or at least the location of the plug on the bottom of the car) |

On Site How To's...
Pics and process done by Hayaku. http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...w-x5-3-0i.html 8 qts, per page 163 of your car year's manual. It is not a difficult DIY. I recommend a large capacity oil catch pan, and be ready for 8 qts of hot oil rushing out. Crack the filter cap first. Take you time, easy stuff. GL, mD

No Problem. As MD said, be careful of the hot oil.

No prob...new poster. We are gentle here, to neophytes.
It's the experienced readers/posters that are too lazy to use Search Tab, or the myriad facets on info that can found on the top lists of any page, that tend to get gooned. ![]() Gentle on the bolt plug removal and reinstall. I rec'd a new washer on the drain plug. I use a piece of cardboard, folded like a funnel, to give the gushing oil an 'avenue' of drain, aimed at a large catch pan. And, some newspapers spread under the pan. I don't lift it as I can just slud my 6'1" 215 lb old bod underneath, though the first time was tight and confining. If you do lift it, use ramps and/or good jack stands and do not trust any jack when you are under it. GL, mD
