Switched from CCFL to SMD rings (WOW there bright)

Well after fitting my CCFL rings a few weeks back I loved them the only down side was I had to unplug the front and rear little speakers for the PDC as the went nuts when ever reverse was selected and because I have them wired as DRL's I couldnt even turn them off when reversing,
So I went ahead and ordered a set of SMD rings from Hong Kong and happy days they arrived this morning so switched them out when I got home here's some picks:

My spare set of CCFL's along side the new SMD rings:

first set fitted along side the old CCFL's:

50 meters away in bright daylight the SMD show up just like OEM rings in the new X5's

Both fitted:

from a distance:

Chuffed with the look of the SMD rings and now I can hook my PDC back up woohoo....

totally jealous as i have 06 and read it's a very detailed process close to impossible but not impossible to open up my lights. As DRL that mod looks nice. I wonder what it looks like at night. I have the oem angel eyes. NICE mod.

I was waiting for someone to do an install of these rings as they are 1/4 the price of Umnitza, looks great! I don't think Umnitza produces 4x more light so these are a win! (about $56 USD shipped for a set and they come with a relay harness!)

I like them. Need to retrofit into my iS and wired them as DRL.

You really make me reconsider buying new aftermarket housings from ebay and just prying the hell out of my permaseals as I'd love to get SMD LED rings on there instead of CCFL.

4 X BMW 2000-2003 X5 E53 SMD LED ANGEL EYES HALO RINGS super bright kit-white | eBay

For some strange reason the chap has stated he no longer posts to the UK???

Im enquired with him about it as I wanted to pick up a second set just so I have spares in case I ever need them as there so cheap....
