Aux jack in DSC panel?
Has anyone done this, I like the neatness of this install but I'm a bit wary of drilling into the DSC panel on our E53 as when I had a look earlier it appears to be a sealed unit...there's no buttons on the right-hand side of my DSC panel so was thinking of putting it there.

It certainly is functionally better to put it there. But I dont like seeing the wires
If it was me, since I dont use the cup holders much, I will route the jack port to it. that way when I park, I can stash the ipod with cable attached and out of sight. |

I installed mine in the ashtray. I think it's safer than the DSC panel. In case you make a mistake on the fitting, you can always get a new ashtray (like I had to do
). Once I had the radio out, I pushed out the climate control panel and ran the wire to the ashtray. I put the connector right above the place where you put out your cig (that round hole). I will post a pic tomorrow if you want to see.
