Is there a reason you want to use "spacers" vs hub centric rings? And the site that sells the wheels in question ECS Tuning...also sells spacers & hub centric rings.
The front wheels discussed in this thread have the same offset as the 20" wheels offered on the e53 (45mm)...and the rear wheels only differ by 5mm vs the 20" rear wheels offered on the e53 (BMW=30mm & Alzor=35mm). Again, just curious as to why you want "spacers"...because they aren't "needed"...but if there's a specific reason why you "want" them...then that'd be a different story. But the hub centric rings...you DO need those.

I've been tempted to buy these too, but wonder how much heavier would they be comparing to the real thing?
i am still on the fence between these and style 87 though... Anyone knows of a place where i can get replica style 87 wheels? I have been looking locally to buy a set of used OEMs in either style but with no luck so far

Less than 20mm: any spacer with appropriate length wheel bolts.
More than 20mm: H&R DRA spacer: bolt to the hub, then the wheel bolt to it. Make sure the hub bored is correct.

Just want to make sure I'm understanding completely. The spacers must be the same hub bore as the E53 on both sides then the hub centric ring on the side that bolts to the wheel?

Unlike some after market wheel vendors...their e53 wheel styles all have 72.56mm center bore. If you decide to purchase an e70 or (front) e71 style wheel...then you'll need to check with them because they'll probably have the 74.1mm center bore:

Why use hub centric rings AND adapters/spacers at the same time if you can get spacers/adapters that fit your hub & the wheel's center bore. If you go to ECS Tuning's website and look at the adapters they sell (as an example)...you can see that you can get adapters that are 72.56mm on one side and 74.1mm on the other. If you want to mount wheels that have a 74.1mm center bore without any other alteration of fitment...then just get hubcentric rings so that the larger 74.1mm center bore will fit your smaller 72.56mm hub.
