Pano Roof Cover/Shades

Probably not the right name for them. But the two cloth panels that cover up the pano roof.
The clother material on them is falling down. I know you cannot spray the liner spray on them because it will look like crap because it is a thin material (tried it on a c panel on my E39). I spoke to the apholster guy I know and he has been around for almost 40 years and he has actually not replace these, but even he was saying they need to be come down and new cloth put on.

My question is
is there anything I can do to them to fix them other than the apholstry spray that stinks. Also what other ideas or can anyone think of

If you want to fix it, do it the right way as suggested. Unless you just want to patch it up and unload the X to be someone else problem.

definatley want to fix it the right way, I am not one to cut corners when it comes to my vehicles. I was just curious as to ways to get it fixed, and are there any other temp fixes for right now, that will get me through the winter, while I do more important maintenance on it

I did the spray adhesive. It only bled in the passenger corner. Not really noticeable, but I know it is there and will remove the panel one day and do it with something cool.

I rushed that last part of it. The trick is to do very light coats on the fabric and let it dry. Then the second coat you can use to actually glue it.

There must be, seriously, you can use contact cement. Brush it on both sides and go to work.

Based on the number of times I have tried using the latest and greatest method and it looked like I had only tried or it was back to the same condition a few weeks later, I take any fabric repair issues to a professional.

Mine is still holding up since April. Not even a hint of it coming down again.

I did this last week and it worked great. I pulled the front section completely off, did two coats on the fabric and two coats on the actual roof part. After they dried i did one more to stick them together. You get one shot to stick them together so make sure you line it up good.

You only need one bottle of this: 3M 38808 Headliner and Fabric Adhesive - 18.1 oz. : Amazon.com : Automotive

Use duct tape anywhere you have overspray right away

Start to finish it should take you less than an hour

Good luck
